Planting trees

Sustainability and social commitment are indispensable for the company.

In 2004, goki planted trees for the first time. Under the motto „A tree for every newborn child in Schleswig-Holstein“, goki has contributed in a small way to making the most sparsely wooded federal state in Germany a little greener.

More than 400,000 trees have been planted in the meantime.

Building schools

150 million children worldwide are engaged in child labour, depriving them of their basic rights and opportunities.

This is why goki is committed to building schools in the Third World. Because education is the way out of poverty and child labour. In cooperation with the children‘s relief organisations „terre des hommes“ and „Children in Africa“, ten schools have been built so far.

Together with registered Arise e.V., goki is currently building its eleventh school in Ghana.

Using climate-neutral energy

Sustainability also plays a major role in production at goki.

The European factories are either equipped with photovoltaic systems or use green electricity.

The company already has a climate-neutral energy balance all over Europe.
The children of the Adventure Land Sievershütten day care centre are showing us what is important for the future. A Friday for trees, a Friday when we plant. In Schleswig-Holstein we still need about 15,000 hectares of reforestation to reach the target of 12 percent forest cover. Here, politicians are also called upon to provide land for the forests accordingly. And so we want to plant trees again today, because whoever receives something from nature should also give something back to it.
