Marionette ostrich

With a long curved neck, a glossy black body, and a splash of orange on its beak and feet, this ostrich marionette has plenty of personality for a bird that cannot fly, its tuft of dark feathers bobbing on top of its head. It hangs from a wooden crossbar on a set of strings, and guiding that bar sends its long legs striding forward in the closest thing an ostrich gets to a run. Painted with water-based colors, safe for little hands and ASTM-tested, it is sturdy enough for the tugging and pulling that comes with learning the strings for the first time. Keeping those long legs moving one after another without tangling takes real concentration, turning a simple stroll across the room into a fun challenge for growing hand-eye coordination and focus. For kids ages 3 and up.
