lift-out puzzle - fish

This cheerful fish comes apart into five pieces - its yellow face, red-and-purple dorsal fin, orange belly, purple tail, and a rising air bubble - each lifting free on its own oversized wooden knob against a colorful underwater scene of swaying seaweed. The surrounding scene gives the fish a real sense of place, like a small window into its own corner of the sea. Rebuilding the fish piece by piece is a gentle step up from puzzles where each piece is its own separate animal, since every part has to go back exactly where it belongs to complete the picture. The big knobs are easy for small hands still working on their pincer grip. Crafted from sturdy wood and finished in bright, water-based colors, this happy fish is built for plenty of taking apart and putting back together. For kids ages 1 and up.
