Xylophone - 8 Tones

Eight bright metal bars, eight distinct notes, and two wooden mallets ready to go the moment it comes out of the box. Each bar rings out in a different rainbow color, making it easy for a child to see the notes as well as hear them, so early songs and note-matching games have a visual anchor a child can follow along with before they've learned to read music. Striking the bars with the included mallets takes some coordination to hit cleanly, a small but real challenge in hand-eye coordination that improves with every song attempted. Because each bar holds a true, fixed pitch, a child can experiment freely, banging out their own tune or following along with a simple melody, and it always sounds musical rather than random. The compact wooden frame keeps the bars secured and in tune through regular use, and the whole thing is light enough to move from room to room for practice. A colorful, genuinely musical first instrument for ages 3 and up.
